Two years after I got back from Universal Orlando Resort, and I am still thinking about it. From the moment we walked under that big blue “Welcome to Universal Orlando Resort” sign, the whole day felt like one photo opportunity after another. I wanted to share the highlights here, because if you have been on the fence about a Universal trip, this might be the push you need.

Starting the Day Right
We got an early start, arriving while the light was still soft and golden. There is something about walking in before the crowds build that sets the tone for the whole day. If you are the type who likes to make the most of park time, an early arrival strategy is one of the first things I help my clients plan.
The Wizarding World Never Disappoints
Hogwarts castle rising up over the trees is one of those views that photos genuinely do not do justice. Standing on that bridge with the towers behind me and a Wizarding World drink in hand, I was reminded why this land pulls people back trip after trip.
Whether you are a die hard Harry Potter fan or just curious to see what the fuss is about, this section of the park deserves real time on your itinerary, not just a quick walkthrough.

A Little Italian Flair in CityWalk
Before heading into the parks, we wandered through CityWalk and found this vintage red Vespa parked outside Red Oven Pizza Bakery. It is a small detail, but CityWalk is full of them. Little touches like this make the walk between the parking garage and the park entrances part of the experience instead of just a commute.

Toon Lagoon Character Moments
Popeye was out and ready to flex for photos in Toon Lagoon. Character meet and greets like this happen throughout the day, and they are easy to miss if your schedule is not built with some flexibility. I always tell clients to leave room in the day for the unexpected moments, because those often become the best memories from the trip.

Walking Through the Gates of Jurassic Park
The Jurassic Park entrance, torches lit on both sides, is one of those spots where you just have to stop and take it in. Islands of Adventure does a great job of making you feel like you have actually stepped into the movie, and this arch is a perfect example.

A Surprise Visit from King Julien
Back at the resort, we ran into King Julien himself in the lobby, arms up and ready to pose. These resort level touches, from character appearances to the holiday decor still up in the lobby, are part of why I recommend staying on property when it makes sense for a client’s plans.

Fast Cars and Big Details
Over near the Fast and Furious area, we spotted this blacked out muscle car with a supercharger pushing right through the hood. Universal has small details like this tucked into corners all over the resort, and half the fun is discovering them as you go.

Ending the Night Under the Shark
We closed out the day at the JAWS shark hanging over the boardwalk near Lombard’s Landing. Nighttime at Universal has a completely different energy than the daytime parks, with the neon signs lighting up the boardwalk and a totally different pace to the evening.

Let’s Plan Your Trip
This is exactly the kind of day I love building for my clients. From the early morning park strategy to knowing where the character moments happen to picking the right resort for your group, there is a lot that goes into making a Universal trip feel effortless.
If any of this looked like something you and your family would enjoy, I would love to help you plan it. Email me at universal@somuchtoseatravel.com or visit my Universal Parks page and let’s start talking about your Universal Orlando trip.
Thank you so much, Robert.
